St. Croix Sensory Inc. – Fecal Malodour Reduction Efficacy Test

St. Croix Sensory Inc. (MN,USA) is a sensory evaluation center specialising in odour evaluation of odourous air. Washroom-Wizard Ltd. contacted St. Croix to conduct independent testing of Ecobreeze’s ability to reduce fecal malodours.

The testing was conducted in controlled laboratory conditions, following international standards and with the fecal malodour at an intensity level stronger than expected in a normal bathroom.

Even with the fan speed set to medium, there was an 89% reduction of fecal malodor within 30 minutes and more than 95% thereafter.

Odournet UK Ltd. (Bristol, UK) is a group of sensory experts and environmental odor management consultants. Washroom-Wizard Ltd. commissioned Odournet to independently assess the effectiveness of the carbon filtration element alone in reducing urine malodour.

The study utilised a stale urine based malodour under controlled laboratory conditions and following European standards.

The results showed a clear reduction from a very strong odour to a weak odour. The study demonstrated that the carbon filter in isolation is capable of reducing both the strength and offensiveness of odour.
